Snaketuary Birthday Party Agreement

Thank you for booking Snaketuary for your event!

To keep everyone safe and make sure the show runs smoothly, please review the rules and boundaries below. Booking a party with Snaketuary® means you agree to these guidelines.

1. Timing & Punctuality

  • Party must be ready to start at the scheduled time. Guests arriving late may miss portions of the show; the program will not be restarted or extended for latecomers.
  • Snaketuary® will arrive approximately 15-45 minutes early to set up. A clear area (free of toys, food, and obstacles) must be available on arrival.
  • We do ask for a 6 ft table be made available. We can bring our own, but we need to know in advance.
  • Late starts do not extend the end time. The show will end at the scheduled time to protect the reptiles' routine and any events booked after yours.

2. Noise & Attention During the Show

  • At least one adult host must actively supervise and stay near the presentation area. The host is responsible for helping keep children seated, reasonably quiet, and focused.
  • Adults and children should avoid loud talking, shouting, and running near the show area. Side conversations that drown out the presenter or encourage kids to be loud make it unsafe to handle reptiles.
  • If noise or chaos makes it unsafe for the reptiles or guests, Snaketuary® may pause the show, switch to a "look-only" program, or end the presentation early without refund.

3. Other Attractions & Distractions

  • Pools, water slides, sprinklers, and other water play must be turned off and closed while Snaketuary® reptiles are out.
  • Inflatables and jump houses must be powered down and off-limits during the show.
  • Loud music, other games, and other high-energy entertainment must be paused for the duration of the program.
  • We strongly recommend scheduling swimming, bouncing, and other noisy attractions either before Snaketuary® arrives or after the show is finished.
  • If you have food or other entertainment, such as swimming, at your event, attendees must wash their hands with soap and water before handling the reptiles.

4. Behavior & Following Directions

  • Children must follow Steven's instructions immediately and consistently. This includes how to sit, when to approach, and how to touch or hold each reptile.
  • No crowding around Steven or the reptiles. Children should remain seated or in clearly marked spots until they are invited to approach.
  • Proper handling only. Snaketuary® will demonstrate exactly how to pet and hold each animal; squeezing, grabbing, pulling, dropping, or rough handling is not allowed. Absolutely no petting of the reptiles' heads.
  • No tapping on containers, cages, or bins- ever. Even if a container is not labeled, tapping is stressful for reptiles and strictly prohibited.
  • Children who cannot or will not follow directions may be removed from the handling portion of the show and asked to watch instead.
  • Snaketuary® may or may not discuss reptiles before the presentation. Please do not get offended. Snaketuary® discusses quite a bit during the presentation, so we may not want to jump ahead and talk about things that we are going to talk about later.
  • Our snakes and other reptiles are living creatures. They get tired. They need rest. If Snaketuary® feels the reptiles need a break, we may put them up and not allow people to interact with them.

5. Supervision & Responsibility

  • Snaketuary® is responsible for the reptiles and the presentation. The host and attending adults are responsible for supervising children and managing their behavior at all times.
  • An adequate number of adults should be present to help maintain order, especially with younger children.
  • All household pets (dogs, cats, etc.) must be secured in another area away from the party space for the entire duration of the program.
  • If you have your own reptiles at the home/venue that Snaketuary® is set up at, or if the birthday person is getting one as a pet, we ask that you do not get those reptiles out, while Snaketuary® has our reptiles out. This is for the safety of all reptiles and attendees. If you already have a pet reptile and would like to show them to us or other attendees, or if you have questions about your own reptile, we would love to see them and answer your questions, but we need to do that before or after Snaketuary® puts our reptiles up.

6. Space, Safety & Environment

  • Running, roughhousing, and chasing games are not permitted near the reptiles or equipment.
  • No food, drinks, or gum in the reptile area. Hands should be clean before handling reptiles and washed or sanitized afterward.
  • Snaketuary® will decide which reptiles attend your event and how they are handled based on the crowd, noise level, space, and overall safety. Reptile selections and handling style may be adjusted on the day of the event if needed.
  • Weather and environmental conditions matter. Extreme temperatures, storms, or unsafe spaces may require us to move indoors, modify the reptile lineup, or reschedule for safety.
  • Snaketuary® will not schedule any outdoor event in June, July, or August, or colder weather, and this rule may be adjusted as needed.

7. Late Arrivals

  • Guests who arrive after the show has started may be asked to sit quietly and join in at an appropriate time so they do not disrupt the program.
  • The show will not be restarted to repeat content for late arrivals.
  • Snaketuary® may not get out reptiles, once they've been put up, for latecomers.

8. Payment & Cancellations

  • A nonrefundable deposit may be required to reserve your date and time. Your booking may not confirmed until the deposit is received.
  • Any remaining balance would be due before the show begins, either upon arrival or via the agreed-upon payment method.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued if the program is shortened or ended early due to unsafe behavior, excessive noise, crowding, or failure to follow these guidelines.
  • Snaketuary® does not accept ACH transfers or automatic deposit payments at this time. All payments must be made via approved methods. Snaketuary® does accept several other forms of payment, including cash, check, credit card, CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal.

9. Rescheduling Your Birthday Party

Snaketuary® understands that plans can change and that rescheduling may sometimes be necessary. If you need to reschedule your birthday party:

  • Please contact us as soon as possible so we can review available dates and times.
  • Snaketuary® often schedules multiple presentations in a single day, and our calendar fills up quickly, especially on weekends and during warmer months.
  • We will do our best to accommodate a new date and time, but alternate options are not guaranteed and may be limited.
  • If a nonrefundable deposit is requested by Snaketuary®, that deposit will transfer to the new date one time if we are able to reschedule. Additional changes may require a new deposit.
  • If no suitable alternate date or time is available, the original booking will be treated as a cancellation and the deposit will not be refunded.
By booking, you acknowledge that rescheduling is subject to Snaketuary®'s existing commitments and calendar availability.

10. Agreement

By booking a Snaketuary® birthday party or presentation, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these rules, and you agree to:

  • Start the party on time and have the space ready.
  • Help keep children and adults quiet and respectful during the show.
  • Pause all other attractions and loud activities while reptiles are out.
  • Ensure children follow directions and handle reptiles properly.
  • Provide appropriate supervision and a safe environment for guests and reptiles.
Part of Snaketuary®'s mission is to stop the fear before it starts- and that only works when everyone helps create a safe, calm, and respectful environment.
